Nicole Combs is a lot of things: wife to country music singer Luke Combs, mom of two, businesswoman—and an avid angler. She loves being outside on the water so much, in fact, that she just came out with a new line of women's fishing gear with Columbia PFG. The Nicole Combs PFG Collection features six pieces that celebrate Nicole's love of fishing and the outdoors, including a breezy and lightweight windbreaker with matching shorts and a fun printed tank top and legging set.

We had the chance to talk with Nicole about her inspiration for the new collaboration and what makes it different from what's already out there. Plus, she shared her top tips for other female anglers looking to get into the sport, along with her three favorite species to fish.
Field & Stream: What inspired you to create this line?
I noticed there was room in the market for fun fishing apparel that was not only high-performance and functional but also designed with women like me in mind. I wanted to create something that makes women feel strong, confident, and badass for life on and off the water.
What makes these pieces different than other women's fishing gear out there?
Columbia PFG has such a great reputation in this fishing space, and I had a blast working with their team. All the materials are thoughtfully selected to handle the elements while still feeling lightweight and cool. It’s about showing that women can thrive in this space and look great doing it!
Plus, this line can be worn anywhere. While it’s great for fishing, it can take you from the boat to the restaurant to a workout class. It's about blending practicality with style and creating pieces that help women feel confident and ready for anything the day brings.
What do you love most about fishing?
I love the sense of peace and connection it brings. It’s not just about catching fish (although that is obviously a lot of fun), but about being in the moment and appreciating nature.
Where's your favorite species or spot to fish?
My favorite place to fish is Florida, where I grew up. The Keys will always hold a special place in my heart and it’s hard to ignore the tarpon down there. Some other honorable mentions in terms of species are redfish and snook.
Do you have any advice for women who want to get into fishing but aren't sure how or where to start?
Keep it simple and enjoy the process! Fishing is all about connecting with nature and learning as you go. Start with trustworthy gear, find a peaceful spot, and take your time. Don’t hesitate to ask others for advice. And when it comes to your outfit, pick pieces that make you feel confident and comfortable, so you can focus on the fun of the experience!
