Paige Triola

Paige Triola is a contributing writer for Field & Stream. As a Pennsylvania-born, Colorado-based freelance outdoor writer, she loves green and humid hikes as much as she enjoys dry and dusty high-elevation treks. Paige tests and reviews gear for hiking, running, camping, and backpacking.

Highlights

  • Covers outdoor adventure, gear, and travel

  • Was originally on track to pursue a career in conservation but wound up writing instead (while still volunteering for environmental organizations!)

Education

Paige graduated from Lafayette College in Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts in biology.

Experience

Paige has adored all things outdoors since childhood, and she’s been writing professionally on the subject for the past 5 years. Before she took up freelance journalism full time, she dabbled in various work experiences such as building and maintaining Kentucky trails with the Student Conservation Association, creating content at a marketing agency in Philly, and working as a web producer for Runner’s World and Bicycling Magazine. Paige relocated to Colorado in 2019 and has since added mountain biking, trail running, and 14er hiking to her outdoor resume.

When she’s not working, she’s often still working (as freelancers do); she can frequently be found exploring new trails with her husband, testing and photographing the latest gear.

Favorite Gear

I am a huge fan of the Ultralight Carbon Fiber Quick Lock 2-Section Trekking Poles (whew!) by Cascade Mountain Tech, as they promptly converted me to a trekking pole hiker. My knees are grateful.
