This journey started as a chase for a memory. A memory of a grandfather who lived a big, adventurous life—and passed down a deep respect for the outdoors, the birds, and the traditions that surround them. From taxidermy tables and mounted waterfowl to lessons about responsibility, restraint, and honor, those early moments shaped everything that came after. That legacy led us here: St. Paul Island, Alaska—home of the King Eider and one of the most demanding waterfowl hunts in the world. A place where weather decides everything, travel takes days, and success is never guaranteed. A place where you might spend a lot of money, take a lot of risk, and still come home empty-handed. But this hunt wasn’t just about birds. It was about brothers and lifelong friends. About chasing something bigger than a limit. About a song called “Dragons”—written for a grandfather whose spirit still shows up in the moments that matter most. And about slaying the dragons that stand in the way of saying “yes” to adventure. From plane failures and wild landings to pounding seas, doubles off the back of the boat, and unforgettable moments on the rocks, this film captures what happens when preparation, purpose, and a little faith collide at the edge of the world. Dragons, Ghosts, and Kings is a story about honoring where you come from—and having the courage to keep going forward.
