Mike Idell is a lifelong outdoorsman, freelance brand strategist, and writer. He cut his teeth bass fishing in California and as a trout guide in northern Wyoming. He then spent a decade working as a brand and creative strategist for outdoor brands. He’s written stories on the history of hunting camouflage, permit fishing, mule deer, mushroom hunting, and everything in between. Today, his springs are devoted to turkeys, his summers to chasing blacktail with a bow, and his fall for mule deer and elk. His proudest moment as a writer is having a story featured in Mossy Oak’s print newspaper next to Col. Tom Kelly, the poet laureate of turkey hunting. He is currently working on his first book.
